Risca Town Council’s ‘Bands in the Park’ event 2025
Unfortunately, Risca Town Council’s rearranged date of this afternoon, Sunday 7 Sep, for Crosskeys Silver Band to play in Tredegar Park, Risca has been postponed for a second time due to the heavy rains forecast onto an already wet park. Risca Town Council’s summer flowers and baskets project is being set out in the Town form 2 June to 30 September 2025. Also the Council is looking forward to its ‘Bands in the Park’ event with Crosskeys Silver Band playing on Sunday afternoon 20 July 2025. Risca Town Council had arranged its third public par ticipation exercise for Monday 20 May 2024 at the Risca Senior Citizens Hall, Park Street, Risca between 6 pm and 7,30 pm. The Town Cllrs and the Caerphilly county borough council’s Town Centre Manager were present that evening. The Town Council held its Christmas Tree lights switch on event in Tredegar Park, Risca on Saturday 25 Nov 3.30pm to 5.30 pm. Local celebrities Jagger and Woody were the entertainers that cold but dry afternoon. About 500 Risca residents per hour attended with about 180 children an hour visiting Santa in his mobile train. The Town Cllrs were pleased to hear reports from residents that they thoroughly enjoyed the Festive event.
The Town Council’s new Festive Lanterns project was set up to coincide with the Tree lights switch on event and are erected along Commercial Street and Tredegar Street. Risca Town Council had planned its Bands in the Park event for Tredegar Park, Risca with Crosskeys Silver Band playing on Sun 23 July 2023, between 2 to 4 pm. Unfortunately, due to the forecast inclement weather the Council had decided to postpone the event to next year. (Bob Campbell, Risca Town Clerk – Monday 6 Nov 2023)
Following the Town Council’s successful Summer Fair in Tredegar Park, Risca on 5 June 2022 for the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, the Town Council held another, successful Fair (despite the rain leading up to the event) in Tredegar Park, Risca in the afternoon of Saturday 6 May 2023 to celebrate the new King’s Coronation.
